Week 1: History Detectives
How do we know about civilizations that no longer exist? Scientists called archaeologists put together clues to create a picture of life long ago. In this class, we will learn how archaeologists gather artifacts, and we’ll excavate our own clues to understand a new civilization we’ve discovered!

Week 2: Sumer 2,000 BC 
We’ll start our time travels in Mesopotamia, birthplace of the wheel, written language, arithmetic and irrigation! Come uncover the amazing city of Ur.

Week 3: Ancient Egypt 1,300 BC
The discovery of King Tut’s tomb helped  modern people know about Ancient Egyptian beliefs and customs. We'll visit the Valley of the Kings together.

Week 4: Qin Dynasty (China) 210 BC
Let’s head east to China, where an amazing discovery was made – not by archaeologists but by farmers digging a well! Learn about the first emperor of China and his army of 8,000 clay soldiers.

Week 5: Pompeii (Ancient Rome) 79 AD
The city of Pompeii was preserved by a thick layer of ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Let's see what archaeologists discovered about this Roman city!

Week 6: Mayan Empire 700 AD
This week we are off to Central America to meet the fascinating Mayans – astronomers, mathematicians and architects.

Week 7: Viking Empire 900 AD 
Let's head to Europe to meet the fierce explorers, the Vikings! We'll learn how they became masters of the ocean and the terror of the continent.

Week 8: Time Capsule
What will future generations think about our culture? What items will tell our stories? Together we'll make a time capsule for future archaeologists.
